6-week workshop, Saturdays – € 290
This course held in English is designed for the intermediate/advanced amateur photographer with an extensive body of work who wants to understand the principles behind editing and wants to learn how to create a solid and concise group of pictures. Participants will work on weekly assignments and will learn to evaluate, organize and give an order to their images by selecting the most effective ones and eliminating the weaker ones. Topics like creating a Portfolio and Portfolio presentation to editors, agencies, curators or potential clients are also covered. In this workshop shooting techniques are not covered.
Equipment needed: camera, laptop. Each participant may bring up to 50/60 pictures printed on paper that will be marked or cut. The prints should be all the same size, no bigger than 13×18 cm
Session 1: September 8th, 15th from 2pm to 4pm; September 22nd, 29th, October 6th & 13th from 10,30 to 12.30 – Registration by August 17th

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Barbara Balzaretti was born and raised in Milan, Italy. After graduating from University, she moved to New York City to study photojournalism at I.C.P. From there, she has worked as a freelance photographer and photo editor for some of the top New York City photo agencies as well as worked with many international photographers. She now lives in Finland, and is the founder and director of the International Photo Center
